Camera shots, angles and movement


The video I have created explores a number of different camera shots, angles and movement. I have used a school setting as it was convenient and it was easy to create different shots which were clear to identify. I have labelled each shot so it is clear to see the differences between shots and I have cut them together so they begin to tell a story. I have put music behind the video and removed all audio from the videos to make it of a higher quality and to make the video more interesting to watch. In total I have explored around 14 different kinds of shots which all are used to create and portray different things and meanings.

Lighting 'still image analysis'

The lighting is low-key as we can see a strong contrast between light and dark and shadows have been created. Top lighting has been used to make the actor look more glamorous as it has accentuated her cheek bones. The smoke effects used have created an obscured look as her outfit and part of her face is plunged into smoke. The cigarette and the darkness all give the impression that this is a crime film. The lighting is low-key as most of the still is complete darkness. Top lighting is used to make the actors facial features appear more pronounced and makes her look more glamorous. The darkness brings a sense of mystery. High-key lighting has been used so the still appears more realistic. Under lighting has been used to create an almost distorted effect. We know this because part of his face appears to be darker. The use of this lighting makes the still seem extremely serious.  Low-key lighting has been used to create shadows and enhance the contrast between dark and light

Parallel and Contrapuntal video.

I have used slow and romantic themed music as I thought it was easy to find videos which were parallel and contrapuntal to the song. I've used videos connoting love, family and relationships which are parallel to the emotion filled song and I have used videos of violence aggression, abuse and partying which are contrapuntal. This is because they are the total opposite to what you would expect to see alongside slow romantic music.
