The actors costume shows his authority and importance in the movie. His smart attire suggests he is either a business man or someone of high significance. His broad shoulders show confidence. He appears to be well groomed and dressed showing he takes pride in his appearance. The lighting is overall quite dark. This increases tension and and creates an uneasy atmosphere. The dark corners surrounding the frame look as though something is beginning to close in and pinpoint him. The characters positioning is quite central. This shows he is the most important character at this moment in the film. The characters facial expressions shows concern yet confidence. He appears to be slightly nervous as we can see the light reflecting of the sweat on his forehead. The actors in the background look as if they belong in the military. Find the opening sequence to a film or TV drama of your choice on YouTube and e mbed the video in a blogpost called 'Cinematography blog tasks'. (First one minute)     1) Write an analysis of the cinematography in the opening sequence.  Highlight your use of media language and try to cover camera shots, angles and movement using the terminology we have learned in lessons. (First one minute) We expect a film to begin with a typical  establishing shot  so we are able to get some kind of information on what to expect through the film. The  establishing shot  shows the audience the setting so we can get some kind of feel for the film. The beginning of this film however  subverts  what we typically expect as it starts with a  long shot  in quite a confined space. Video feedback/learner response 1) Type up your feedback from your teacher. - Your cross cutting was clever - Good montage with clear differences (parallel and contrapuntal) - Well edited - Some of your clips didn't really work 2) Now reflect on your work and write your own comments. Add three WWWs and three EBIs underneath the rest of your feedback. WWW: My editing was of high quality (cross cutting) I jumped from parallel to contrapuntal clips instead of using just one parallel and contrapuntal clip The speed wasn't too slow or fast so the different clips were clear to understand EBI: The carnival clips didn't fit in as well as some of the other clips The music just stopped suddenly instead of fading out slowly Some of the clips were quite dark making it hard to see them 3) L earner response: Whose did you think was best and why?
